A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to invalid addresses under the same domain. For instance, an email message sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can receive emails from partners or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain moment you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

Configuring a catch-all e-mailbox will be remarkably easy in case you’ve got a Linux shared hosting service with us. You can activate this option through our powerful, yet easy-to-use Email Manager, which is built into the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer your web hosting account. You will see all the mailboxes that you’ve set up displayed alphabetically and to the right of each one there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will immediately show you if a particular mailbox receives all the email messages pertaining to a given domain or not. With one single click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this option whenever you wish. If there’s activated email forwarding or in case some other mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a certain domain name, you’ll get a warning notification from our system. The latter will not replace/disable anything automatically and without your consent.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

You will be able to configure a catch-all email address with no more than one click in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server with our company and your emails are handled by our cloud web hosting platform. All the email addresses that you create with any domain hosted in the semi-dedicated hosting account will be shown in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel. Each of them will have a small-size "Catch-all" icon next to it, so all it will take to enable the feature will be to click that icon. In the same fashion you will be able to remove the feature, if you do not need it anymore. Our system will notify you if you are trying to enable a second catch-all email address for a certain domain name or in case there’s active email forwarding, but it will never alter or disable any feature automatically and without your permission.
